My work is supervised by María Gonçalves (UPC) and Carlos Pérez García-Pando (Barcelona Supercomputing Center – BSC), where I conduct my research.

+Dr. Marta Via is a postdoctoral researcher in the Atmospheric Composition Group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), supported by a Juan de la Cierva fellowship. She earned her BSc in Physics (2013–2017) and an MSc in Meteorology (2017–2018) from the University of Barcelona (Spain). She completed her PhD at IDAEA-CSIC (2019–2023), focusing on particulate matter composition, particularly the source apportionment of organic aerosol. She then joined the SMASH MSCA COFUND program (2024–2026) at the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), where she developed machine learning methods for advanced source apportionment of particulate matter. She also participated in several field campaigns in the highly polluted western Balkans to identify major PM sources and worked on harmonizing elemental carbon measurements obtained through different measurement principles. Currently, she is working on evaluating air quality models using measurements, with a focus on the sources contributing to organic aerosol and elemental carbon.

She is graduated in Environmental Sciences by Universidad de Murcia, Patricia got her master on pollution, toxicology and environmental health (specializing in environmental pollution) in Universidad de Valencia.

After a period of diverse work experiences in the UK and Ecuador, I moved to Barcelona and obtained my Master's degree in Geoinformation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2024. During this time, I also collaborated with the Área Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) team to develop and implement geospatial solutions and workflows for the objections phase of the Metropolitan Urban Master Plan (PDUM). After finishing my degree, I have now joined BSC as a Junior Research Engineer to work on the ATARRI project, where my efforts will be focused on developing high-quality training sessions and material on aerosol forecast products to help raise the research profile and capabilities of ECoE.

+**Bio**: Alba obtained her bachelor degree in Mathematics from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB). She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2019-2014) and an MSc in Applied Mathematical Sciences with Climate Change Impacts Modeling from the Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh (2019). Her PhD entitled "Implementation, Development and Evaluation of the Gas-phase Chemistry within the Global/Regional NMMB/BSC Chemical Transport Model (NMMB/BSC-CTM, now MONARCH) (2009-2014) " was funded by the FPI-UPC grant. Her previous postdoctoral research was focused on quantifying the importance of reactive halogens and very-short-lived halocarbons in the marine atmosphere using the regional model WRF-Chem in the Environmental Department at the University of East Anglia (UEA), and the climate model CAM-Chem in the department of Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). She also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut de Ciència i Tecnologia Ambientals (ICTA-UAB) studying how green infrastructures (in various forms from peri-urban agriculture to green roofs) impact the urban atmosphere (e.g. humidity, temperature, and air quality) using the WRF and WRF-Chem models coupled with urban canopy models. She has recently jointed the BSC to advance research in the role of natural emissions from vegetation and soil on air quality with the focus on ozone chemistry and secondary particle formation.

He completed his PhD at TU/e in the Database Group, where his research focused on efficient algorithms for large-scale time series analysis, with an emphasis on similarity search. His work has been published in AI and data management venues such as SIGMOD, VLDB, and ICDE.

She then worked at Endesa as an operation supervision intern, where she developed Python-based tools to automatically validate processes in energy trading operations. She completed her Ph.D. in 2026 at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, focusing on characterization of cirrus clouds and dust aerosols using remote sensing measurements and radiative transfer models to study their radiative effects. In parallel, she obtained her MSc degree in Data Science and Engineering from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in 2025. In 2026, she joined the Data, Assimilation, Forecasting and Applications group within Atmospheric Composition group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). Her current work focuses on CAMS reports and improvements in dust forecasts.

+**Bio:** I am a Dust-DN fellow funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, currently working on the implementation of super-coarse dust in state-of-the-art atmospheric models and assessing its impact on climate. My research is conducted under the supervision of Carlos Pérez García-Pando at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and María Gonçalves at UPC. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Salesian Polytechnic University (Ecuador), as well as a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Technology and Postgraduate Studies in Weather and Climate Modeling from Ghent University (Belgium). Before moving to Barcelona, I completed an internship at ALSO Space in Brussels, where I supported the geospatial team and contributed to the dissemination and application of Copernicus data across Europe and Latin America.
