 **Short Bio:** Damien McClain holds a Bachelor's in biology and mathematics from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, USA. He worked in human diagnostic genetics for 3 years and then at a synthetic biology company for 5 years in Boston, USA. There he learned to code and wrote many scripts using Python to organize and manipulate thousands of samples at once in complex long-running biological processes in various biological hosts. These scripts enabled lab users to scale up their lab processes via various robots and ensured quality via experimental and process controls, as well as ensured organized data return via attaching metadata.
