===== Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC): Options for students' engagement =====

In collaboration with the UPC there are three main options for students engagement: 
  - Academic thesis (Final Degree Thesis - TFG - or Final Master Thesis - TFM -) 
  - Academic internships 
  - Non-academic internships  

==== Academic thesis ====

  * The __number of hours__ devoted to the work is fixed and __depends on__ the specific Degree or Master __program__ (1 ECTS ≅ 25 hours)
  * The students' enrolment is __scheduled twice a year__: September / February
  * The __proposals__ (including title, objectives, brief work plan and total number of hours) have to be available for the students __before the enrolment deadlines__ and they have to be approved by the Degree/Masters' Academic Committees.
  * The student has to develop its academic work (ideally) in __4 months__ (presentations are normally in February/July)
  * The student has to have a __UPC academic supervisor__ 
  * There are no specific economic conditions 

==== Academic internships ====
  * The __number of hours__ devoted to the work is fixed to __360 h__ maximum. This amount of h can be extended up to 900h.
  * The students' __enrolment__ can happen __any time__ during the year
  * The ES-BSC has to be registered in the __internship system for the degree/master__ as institution and each specific __offer__ has to be __published__ independently with a brief __job description and the desired student profile__
  * The UPC would send the CV of the applicants for the position to the ES-BSC 
  * Upon selection of one candidate the [[http://eseiaat.upc.edu/ca/empresa/formularis-empresa/educational_coop_agreement_eng.pdf|cooperation agreement]] and [[http://eseiaat.upc.edu/ca/empresa/formularis-empresa/educational_coop_agreement_work-plan_eng.pdf|work plan]] have to be defined 
  * The __ES-BSC supervisor__ has to provide a __final assessment__ on the students' work  
  * The student has to have also a __UPC academic supervisor__

==== Non-academic internships ====
  * The __number of hours__ devoted to the work is fixed to __900 h__ maximum per academic year (September 16 year-1 to September 15 year-2) 
  * The students' __enrolment__ can happen __any time__ during the year
  * The ES-BSC has to be registered in the __internship system for the degree/master__ as institution and each specific __offer__ has to be __published__ independently with a brief __job description and the desired student profile__
  * The UPC would send the CV of the applicants for the position to the ES-BSC 
  * The __ES-BSC supervisor__ has to provide a __final assessment__ on the students' work

 Each Master program has its own intranet for Thesis proposals. Some of them work with the same intranet for Internships.
