Some tweaks for the monitor:

Do not create new axis for the colorbar when using the subplots feature, as it becomes a nightmare to deal with and the default behaviour is enough at least for now

Do not display it if location is not set. Not really done now, but this should allow us to use only one in subplots

Reduce the max amount of labels displayed to ten when bounds are set.
Also removed a check in the timeseries that was not needed and a couple of deprecation warnings
