Ocean Diagnostics for long experiments
Hey again @vguemas @cprodhomme @eexarchou @pabretonniere
As I wrote in a previous post I'm trying to upgrade the Ocean Diagnostics to work with NEMO3.6 output. In addition to the little detail mentioned in the previous post, I face two bigger problems:
-
Is Ocean Diagnostics adapted for my kind of simulations? That is, only one start date, but that runs for very long times, with many members. For example, start in 1979, run for 10 years (eventually this will be 35 years), with 25 members. I'm worried because at some point there is a concatenation of daily ocean files, and this is just going to be not tractable.
-
The documentation of common_ocean_post.txt is very poor, and I'm not sure to understand what I should change there. For example, NEMO3.6's output for 3-D temperature is now thetao (previously: votemper); I changed occurences of votemper by thetao. But at some point the script crashes as it is looking for the variable thetao in the daily file:
ncatted -O -a valid_max,thetao,d,, $file $file # CRASHES
I'm not sure to understand while Ocean Diagnostic has to work on this daily ocean file anyway, since I'm only asking for processing sea ice files:
listpost=('siasiesiv')
Any help is appreciated!
