PlotEquiMap potential improvements

Checking the project S2S4E-backend, we saw there are two versions of PlotEquiMap() function here https://earth.bsc.es/gitlab/es/S2S4E-backend-BSC/-/tree/master/visualization/decathlon

Could you report here which are the changes in the function in order to evaluate if we can improve PlotEquiMap? In case we can include those changes in the function of s2dv, it will simplify the mantainance of projects and scripts.
