I have included a new function in the branch develop-ResidualCorr of s2dv. The residual correlation assesses whether a forecast captures any of the observed variability that is not already captured by a reference forecast. For example, it can be used to assess whether the decadal predictions capture more observed variability than the climate projections. The function already has documentation, basic checks, and it is in an s2dv-like format. Could you please have a look at it and let me know if I have to add/modify anything?
