Hi @aho,

I have included a new function in the branch develop-ResidualCorr of s2dv. The residual correlation assesses whether a forecast captures any of the observed variability that is not already captured by a reference forecast. For example, it can be used to assess whether the decadal predictions capture more observed variability than the climate projections. The function is in the following link: https://earth.bsc.es/gitlab/es/s2dv/-/blob/develop-ResidualCorr/R/ResidualCorr.R

The function already has documentation, basic checks, and it is in an s2dv-like format. Could you please have a look at it and let me know if I have to add/modify anything?

@bsolaraj has kindly accepted reviewing the function. Could you please provide any feedback that you may have?

Thanks a lot!

Carlos
