Merge branch 'develop-hotfixes-2.3.1-a' into 'master'

Develop hotfixes 2.3.1 a

Already fixed bugs that leaked into master.
Added .gitignore rules to ignore files with '#' in both ends of filename (emacs).
Fixed testing script to not warn when '.Rcheck' folder already exists.
