I finished the modularization of Start(). There are some parts I didn't touch because I'm not familiar with them enough. But the length of Start() has been reduced to 3/4 now, so I think it is better than before. In this branch, I also revised ex1_8 (it had some errors before.) and added a corresponding unit test.
If you find it no problem, we can merge it and maybe have an internal release so we can have more tests on it. Please let me know your opinion, thanks!
