Short Bio: Waqar holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy. Prior to joining the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. At BSC, he explores AI approaches to advance the understanding of Earth sciences and climate change, with a particular focus on developing foundational models for Earth.
